Registration Fee Waivers and Travel Assistance for Attendees from Small and Medium-Sized MPOs |
|
| The 3rd TRB Conference on Innovations in Travel Modeling (ITM2010) will showcase the latest and greatest developments in travel modeling methods and tools that may be applied in a wide variety of geographical contexts for a range of planning applications and analyses. The Federal Highway Administration Travel Model Improvement Program (TMIP) is offering a limited number of registration fee waivers and travel fellowships for attendees from small (up to 250,000 population) and medium-sized MPOs (population between 250,000 and 750,000). This is part of TMIP's outreach efforts to facilitate attendance by individuals who would otherwise not be able to attend the conference. Interested individuals from small and medium-sized MPOs should send a request for travel assistance, with a short justification explaining how the individual (and the agency) will benefit from attendance at this conference, by e-mail to Ram M. Pendyala at ram.pendyala@asu.edu with a copy to Sarah Sun at sarah.sun@dot.gov. The deadline for submission of requests is March 1, 2010. A response will be provided within 2-3 weeks of receipt of the request. TMIP provides a wide range of services to help planning agencies improve their travel analysis techniques. TMIP activities focus on a well-defined set of goals that are flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of transportation planners. For more information about the FHWA Travel Model Improvement Program, visit http://tmip.fhwa.dot.gov. |
